They Found Some Dirt!
Since the Red Bull event, some people I upset have gone ballistic on me. They are trying to find mistakes I have made in my career so that they can bitch about me and throw me away.
Well, this is what happened.
I recommended someone for a position at work. His onboarding was completed based on the academic report cards generated through the institute’s official portal. I checked them, and HR checked them thoroughly. Everything seemed okay, and he started working.
A couple of weeks ago, I found out that he had not completed all his academic requirements.
But how?
When I recommended him, I checked everything. HR checked everything too. His academic records looked fine. So how did this happen?
Later, we discovered that there was a glitch in the academic software. It was not showing the remaining subject, even though the required credits appeared to be completed. If it was known to him earlier, he had 2 chances of completing this.
When I learned about it, I simply suggested that he ask HR for more time to submit his final certificates. Honestly, I did not know what else to do at that moment.
And here is the irony: the same system is handled by the people I upset.
So, who is at greater fault here? If I am punishable, aren’t they too? Who is going to look into that?
I am a work in progress. I know I make mistakes, and I will keep working on myself. But this situation has made me seriously question some of the people I used to respect.
I had heard stories about people being targeted by them, but I did not believe those stories. Now I know what can happen when you go against their will. They can use their power and position to bring you down instead of looking in the mirror.
God save them!
Again, I am Abhi Mitra, and I admit that I made a blunder.
